Juveniles spared life sentences

The Supreme Court ruled that juveniles who commit crimes in which no one is killed may not be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Sure, we could do some research and post some graphs, but for now we’ll just say this makes sense in theory.  If a juvenile on parole knows he is about to be pinched and sent to the slammer for life he has no incentive to cooperate and actually may have a bad incentive to harm those after him in an attempt to get away that he wouldn’t previously have had.

Think the Newt Gingrich’s onetime proposal for the death penalty for drug dealers.
