How did Alvin Greene win the South Carolina Primary?

…everyone wants to know how Mr. Greene, an unemployed Army veteran who had been completely unknown until Tuesday, inexplicably defeated a heavily favored former legislator and judge to become the state’s Democratic nominee for the Senate — and the state’s latest political circus act.

How did this happen?  Easy.

1. A Republican paid the $10k filing fee for him.

2. Republicans voted in the open primary.

3. Greene was first on the ballot, which inevitably gets someone some extra votes.

AND what everyone has been overlooking:

Mr. Jackson said, adding his own theory of how Mr. Greene had won. “Maybe voters thought it was the singer, Al Green.”
